It’s been more than a week now and the situation still remains very serious. I am watching NHK almost the whole day, both at work and at home. I just realized I have never watched that much TV in English in my life. The scope of the tragedy is bigger than my mind is able to handle and process. I cannot believe it all happened to the country that I love so dearly. At the same time, I admire the fortitude of Japanese people and the strength of mind with which they met the disaster.

I’d like to offer my sincere words of support and consolation to all Japanese people. I hope world community will help to fix the extremely dangerous damage of nuclear plant in Fukushima and to restore the destructed area in a shortest possible time.

May all the victims of this disaster rest in peace and their blessed memory stay with us forever.
